How we are dealing with Coronavirus

Coronavirus Update


Freedom are monitoring the current situation regarding Coronavirus, Covid-19. We are speaking to our teams in our UK and overseas destinations regularly and we are following the advice given by The Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FOC), Public Health England (PHE) as well as guidance offered by travel regulatory bodies. These restrictions can be reviewed and lifted at anytime.

In the UK while lockdown measures are easing, there are currently restrictions in place which prevent certain business (such as bars, restaurants and hotels) from opening. These restrictions are in place until the 4th July. The FCO current advice for British people is against all non-essential travel worldwide. We will monitor this, and update when new information is given.

For both UK and EU bookings, Freedom where possible, will look at flexible postponements offering either to move to a later date or to change location. In certain circumstances this may not be possible.

How we are dealing with Coronavirus


As a result of the high volume of customer enquiries and a smaller core team working from home, our main lines are currently unmanned. If you have an existing booking you are able to contact us via email on sales@freedomltd.com or via your Freedom VIP area and we will reply as soon as possible. Please note that during this time we will only be able to respond to the Group Leader. If you are a group member, please direct any questions through your group leader.

Freedom are contacting groups travelling up until the 6th July to discuss postponement of your weekend. Groups travelling before the end of June who have questions should email sales@freedomltd.com. Response times will be prioritised in date of travel order, but we will get back to you as soon as we can.

Groups travelling from July 7th onwards are still going ahead as planned and you should follow booking terms and balance deadlines as normal.

For groups affected by the travel restrictions, we would like to reassure you that your money is safe and held in a fully bonded HSBC Client account. We will hold your payments as a credit against the future rearranged date. This money will remain protected until your new travel date.

Questions & Answers


Below are a few questions that we are being asked...

I have tried to call but just get an answerphone message, can we call you?
We have a small core team working from home, so our main lines are currently not manned. We have a higher than normal volume of calls where groups departure dates are within three weeks, so this gives our team time to work with these groups. If your travel date is more than three weeks away please email sales@freedomltd.com and we will respond but ask that you are patient while we work through all enquiries. We will respond in date of travel order.

If my weekend is affected by coronavirus restrictions, what are my options?
We are offering every group a Credit issued to the Group Leader against a postponement to a later date in the same location or against a weekend in any one of our 47 locations within the next 12 months. We are encouraging groups to keep the same duration and itinerary but move the date. We will of course try to move the holiday at no extra cost, but this will depend on supplier terms. If the weekend is moved to a later date in 2020 Freedom will guarantee that there will be no extra cost. we would like to reassure you that your money is safe and held in a fully bonded HSBC Client account.

I am due to travel on or before the 5th July, what should I do?
A member of the Freedom team will soon or will have already contacted every group leader for bookings travelling in the next three weeks to discuss your booking. Please note that we will only be able to speak to the group leader, so if you are a group member please direct your enquiry through them. If you are a group leader and have a question please contact us via your Freedom VIP area or by emailing sales@freedomltd.com and we will respond. Response times are slower than normal and we are responding in travel date order.

I am due to travel after 7th July, what should we do?
Your booking is still in place and still going ahead as planned. You and your group should continue to pay for the weekend as normal. Group leaders only contact us via your Freedom VIP area or by emailing sales@freedomltd.com. Response times are slower than normal, and we are responding in travel date order.

My final balance is due, should I pay as normal?
Yes, if your weekend balance due date passes without payment you could put your booking at risk and lose everything you have paid. It is important to remember that if your payment doesn’t reach us by the balance due date, we reserve the right to cancel the booking.

The Wedding is postponed, can I change the event date?
We are here to help you to postpone and rearrange your weekend to fit with the new date for your wedding. You will still want a weekend to celebrate. If you do not know the date yet then with the Postponement refund Credit in place, we will provisionally move the weekend to a date later this year and when you know the date you can let us know and we will change. All usual terms will remain in place. Changes are subject to availability and price discrepancies.

What if My Flight is Cancelled?
If you haven’t already, make sure you have travel insurance. We recommend that if you are travelling abroad or in the UK that you take out insurance to make sure you are covered for all aspects of your weekend. Freedom will support you in any claim by providing you with requested documentation where possible.

Will my event be safe?
Rest assured we are in regular contact with our UK and overseas hotels and suppliers who are ensuring that they are making the necessary adjustments while still providing their services. If social distancing requirements means an event is unable to take place, we will be happy to arrange an alternative or postpone your activity to a later date.

If you haven't booked yet, should you delay booking?

If you are looking to plan a weekend for later this year or into 2021, you can still make an enquiry online as usual and quotes will be sent to you. We are taking new bookings for travel dates from July 2020 onwards.

We hope to be through this crisis and able to operate as normal, but we are keeping an eye on updated news. If you book a weekend and the FCO, PHE or regulatory bodies extend restrictions, then we will offer you an alternate location OR you can postpone the weekend until later in the year.

We are sure we all need a good party when this crisis is over.

Freedom has been in business since 1996 and intend to be around for another 20+ years. All clients’ money is held separately in a bonded HSBC client account, so your money is fully protected and is 100% safe.
