Follow in the footsteps of true heros and have your own adventure with this Newquay Cornwall Castaway activity. Actually the word activity doesn't do it justice, read on for more.
Challenge one: Making dry land
Shortly after being ‘shipwrecked’ your group’s objective is make dry land by means of wild sea swimming, climbing and traversing your way along the rocks, riding sluices (nature’s natural rapids) and jumping into deep water plunge pools.
Challenge two: Cave survival
On making it to Dead man’s cove, called this for good reason and home to your team’s second set of adventure activities, it’s time to see if you’d survive as stranded castaways. Here you’ll learn how to forage for edible cave delicacies, collect drift wood to build a fire, and identify our interesting marine and bird life.
Challenge three: Raft escape
Once well fed and raring to go again, it’s time to escape Dead man’s cove. Fortunately for you a life raft (A.K.A the Super SUP) will be in the vicinity as a means of escape. Here, working as team, you’ll learn how to launch & land the castaway raft, perform efficient paddle strokes both standing up and kneeling down, steer and control the craft, and navigate our craggy coastline back to shore.
Euphorically staggering back up the sand on your return to dry land, you’ll be buzzing on a wave of adrenaline, physical exhaustion and a real sense of pride for surviving the adventure activities and becoming a true Cornwall Castaway. We’ll reward your efforts with a bottle of chilled bubbly to wash away any aches and pains.
The Cornwall Castaway offers something everyone. It’s not just action adventure activities, and heaps of fun, but you also walk away having learnt invaluable lifesaving skills, a bottle of fizz, and a tall tale to tell for the next 100 years.
