Using both long and short wheel based ex MOD vehicles it really does give you the opportunity to see what they're capable of.
Initially the instructors explain all the safety aspects of driving including steering and braking techniques and the varying terrain before you are taken onto the course.
After instruction you get the chance to get behind the wheel and try some of the steep gradients yourself, not to mention the almost sheer drop offs.
The "Commando" and "Marine" courses will see you tackle some crazy angles as well as rocks and steep inclines. It's quite an thrill when you're perched on a hill top and not able to see how steep the drop off is.
The experience wouldn't be complete without attempting ''the mud run'' many people go in but not everyone gets out!
Our Newcastle 4x4 Off Road uses original ex-army Land Rovers. These are not standard vehicles, but are specifically built for tough terrain! Off-rod driving is about reading the terrain and understanding your vehicles capabilities. All vehicles can carry up to 8 passengers. Each person will have approx. 10-15 minutes driving time.
