Let the train take the strain
Edinburgh Waverley railway station, commonly referred to as just "Waverley" locally, is the main railway station in the Scottish capital Edinburgh. It has great rail links to the other major cities too. The journey from London is about 5 hours, Birmingham 4 hours 30 min, Manchester 4 hours, York 3 hours whilst Newcastle, Inverness and Aberdeen are all about 2 hours away by train.
Take a road trip
Because Edinburgh is located at the heart of the Scottish motorway network, it can be surprisingly quick and easy to get to your Edinburgh stag weekend by car. It’s the A9 and M90 from the north of Scotland, the M8 from the west coast, and the A1 from the south of Scotland. If you dare (and we do!) to cross the border from England you can do it on the M6 and M74 from the west, or the A1 from the east.
Catch the bus
An excellent bus service transports you across the city throughout the day and night, including a regular 24 hour service to Edinburgh Airport.
Take the tram
WiFi friendly trams run 14 km from York Place in the city centre to Edinburgh Airport, in a journey time of approximately 35 minutes. Wheel chair accessible, ramps and lifts are provided at the stops along the route.
Call a cab
You've partied hard, you've partied late and you just need to hit your bed... no worries, there's over 1000 black cabs operating in the city centre.
