Incredibly well situated Cambridge is a breeze to reach from wherever you are based in the UK, making it the ideal location for your Cambridge stag weekend.

Although Cambridge has a small city airport Stansted (www.stanstedairport.com) and Luton Airports (www.london-luton.co.uk) offer the best in budget flights.

Stansted Airport to Cambridge is only 28 miles away (40 minutes by car), which is a short taxi ride or if you want to hire a car, why not rent one from the airport? Companies to use include: -
Hertz, Europcar, Budget, Avis, National and Alamo. Budget airlines to try include www.easyjet.co.uk offering flights from Newcastle from only £21-99 one way. www.ryanair.co.uk also flies to Stansted from Newcastle from £30-00 and Glasgow from as little as £6-00 one-way.

Located within Stansted Airport is a railway terminal operated by Central Trains offering travel to Cambridge, which takes about 30 minutes.

Luton Airport currently has cheap flights with www.easyjet.co.uk flying in from Glasgow, Edinburgh and Belfast from £21-99 one way. Again they have cars to hire from companies based at the airport including Avis, Europcar, Hertz, National and Alamo. Licensed Hackney Carriages are available from the rank outside the terminal in the Drop Off Zone. This is handy as Luton is only 38 miles from Cambridge (1 hour by car.)

By Train

Alternatively you could choose to travel to Cambridge by rail. Cambridge is very well connected to London on the rail network with regular services from Kings Cross and Liverpool Street Stations. The fastest journeys from Kings Cross can take only 45 minutes with other slower trains taking around 70 minutes again from Kings Cross and Liverpool Street. Cost wise it’s around £14-00 one way from London to Cambridge. Just time for a quick drink before you arrive for your stag weekend Cambridge.

Cambridge is easily linked to the rest of the UK by an excellent rail network. www.nationalexpresseastcoast.com links up with Glasgow, Edinburgh, Newcastle, Leeds and York, while www.crosscountrytrains.co.uk serves both Manchester and Birmingham and finally www.eastmidlandstrains.co.uk offers trains from Norwich, Nottingham, Sheffield and Liverpool. Typically a return fare from Edinburgh can cost around £100-00 return.

By Car

But if you would really rather drive then it’s so simple. Handily situated just off the M11 Cambridge is easy to get to from the South and North. From the M25 in the South you join the M11 at junction 27. Leave the M11 at junction 11 taking the A1309, then the A1134 and finally the A603 until you reach Cambridge. From the North, again join the M11, this time leaving at junction 12 taking the A603 signposted Cambridge.
