TRAVEL TO CARDIFF

hen travel cardiffGood news girls, Cardiff is easy to reach from anywhere in the U.K. and once there the public transport services are both regular and reliable.

For a great start to your hen party Cardiff you may all decide to fly in to the capital of Wales. You’ll arrive all chilled and most definitely ready to party.

By Plane

Cardiff International Airport (CWL) is just 12 miles outside of the city. It handles 1.9 million passengers a year via its 1 runway.

You and the girls could fly from Newquay, Anglesey, Belfast (1 hour 10 mins), Cork, Dublin, Edinburgh, Glasgow (1 hour 15 mins), Jersey and Newcastle (1 hour 15 mins).

Check out low fare airlines like Flybe and No Frills for cheap prices.

This airport is relatively small, but you can still expect the usual shops, food and bars.

By Train

For your hen weekend in Cardiff you may opt to let the train take the strain. The two stations in Cardiff are:

Cardiff Central, Central Square – this is the main railway station so head for Central.

Cardiff Queen Street – a secondary station in this city.

Both are managed by Arriva Trains Wales.

Just to give you a rough idea the journey from Manchester would take approximately three and a half hours, from London just over two hours and from Edinburgh seven and a half hours – need a good book for that one!

By Car

You may plan to arrive at your hen party in Cardiff in the car. If so you’ll need to be on the M4 road from London. If you’re travelling from the north or from Cornwall it’s the M5 that will link you on to the M4.

To be extra helpful we’ve even worked out the following approximate mileage and travelling time for your Cardiff hen weekends:

Birmingham - 112 miles - 2 hours 7 mins
Bournemouth - 120.5 miles - 2 hours 39 mins
Brighton - 199.6 miles - 3 hours 29 mins
Bristol - 44.3 miles - 51 mins
Cambridge - 200.2 miles - 3 hours 35 mins
Edinburgh - 394.3 miles - 7 hours

Leeds - 227.7 miles - 4 hours 4 mins
Liverpool - 199.3 miles - 3 hours 32 mins
London - 152.4 m - 2 hours 57 mins

Norwich - 272.2 miles - 5 hours

Cardiff is relatively easy to get around and like we mentioned public transport is reliable. One option on your hen weekend Cardiff could be to organise a Limo. Guaranteed good fun, drinks along the way and feeling like celebs.

We've been equally helpful with a Cardiff stag weekend travel page, so be sure to tell the Stags.
