HOW TO GET TO YOUR HEN WEEKEND IN NEWCASTLE


So you’ve chosen Newcastle as the destination for your hen weekend – well it couldn’t be easier to get there. Situated in the North of England it has a great transport links and is accessible by road, rail and air from the whole of the UK.

Newcastle Airport is situated about 6 miles from the city centre. Flights operate all year round from most of the UK airports. www.flybe.com operates from Belfast, Exeter, Gatwick and Southampton. www.easternairways.com flies in from Aberdeen, Birmingham, Cardiff, and Southampton. www.easyjet.com operates from Bristol, Stansted and Belfast. Once at the airport travel into Newcastle city centre can be by taxi from the rank outside the main terminal (which takes about 15 minutes) or by Metro, which runs every 7 minutes and takes about 23 minutes to get to Newcastle Central Station. Once in Newcastle you won’t need a car as everything is within walking distance on your hen party in Newcastle.

You may decide to let the train take the strain and again Newcastle is very well connected to the rest of the UK. National Express East Coast Trains www.nationalexpresseastcoast.com is the speedy route from London Kings Cross, Peterborough, York and from the north – Glasgow and Edinburgh. Aberdeen and Inverness also have direct trains on this line too. First Trans Pennine Express www.texpress.co.uk serves York, Liverpool and Hull and Cross Country Trains www.crosscountrytrains.co.uk basically links Newcastle with the rest of the country. You can travel from Cardiff, Birmingham, Bristol, Plymouth, Brighton and Reading on this route for your Newcastle hen nights.

We had an excellent hen weekend, everyone really enjoyed it and all the activites we got up to.

The hotel was great and centrally located and now the boys just cant wait for the stag do this weekend, they also booked through yourselves.

Just wanted to thank you all for being so patient with my ever changing and problematic booking - but -this has to have been one of the best, if not the best hen weekend away ever spent. Everyone had a fantastic time and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. All the staff organisers were really great and lots of fun. There is nothing that can be faulted!! Amazing!!

Driving to Newcastle is also a breeze. The A1 from the south and the north are vastly improved by stretches of dual carriageway and motorway and the scenery is superb. The A19 is the choice of road if you are coming from York or Doncaster and from the west of the UK take the A69 across the breadth of the country. If you are driving from anywhere south of Newcastle you will have the pleasure of seeing the Angel of the North with its arms outstretched welcoming you to Newcastle. This amazing feat of engineering, by prize-winner Anthony Gormley, weighs in at 200 tonnes and is 20 metres tall with a 54 metre wingspan. It has a greater wingspan than a Boeing 757 and due to its hilltop location has to withstand over 100m.p.h wind. What a great landmark to see at the start of your hen weekend in Newcastle.
