When the sun goes down Edinburgh gets its second wind! Being the UK’s second most visited city, Scotland’s financial and political capital and a University City, Edinburgh has got more than its fair share of decent bars and clubs and restaurants. There are more than enough to suit all tastes and purses for Edinburgh hen parties.

If you only heed one piece of advice from us for your hen night Edinburgh, let it be this: Rose Street and George Street are great places to start your evening, here and the surrounding area is choc full of decent bars – All Bar One, The Living Room, Rose Street Brewery and the Hard Rock Café to name but a few. Combined with bars to suit you ladies are decent places to eat all close to hand – you don’t have to totter too far on those heels!

Edinburgh hen nights love a little of the fizzy stuff, so another top suggestion from us is to ask your taxi driver to take you to Tigerlily’s. This historic former townhouse at is located on five floors.

Oloroso, a regular haunt for Scottish and international celebrities is a cool bar and restaurant which has some of the best views of the city from its roof top terrace where you can sip a few cocktails, and if you want, order something to eat. For more cool cocktails and posh nosh with a side order of views, you could also try the Forth Floor Restaurant at Harvey Nichols.

Other chic and trendy cocktail bars to head to for celebrating your hen nights in Edinburgh are The Opal Bar, and Ricks Bar and Le Monde, which offers you three bars – Milan, Vienna and Paris as well as the chance to party in Shanghai Club, one of the top Edinburgh nightclubs.

Edinburgh has its own collection of bars offering early drinkers happy hour prices, so head off to The Rutland at the west end of Princes St, TGI Friday’s in Castle St, Frazers in George St or other city centre bars such as Halo, Henry J Beans and Candy Bar – don’t you just love to buy one, get one free!

Are you ladies starting to feel hungry? Dining in Edinburgh is a fun and tasty pursuit. From traditional haggis haunts to romantic Italian restaurants, to trendy bars - there is something to suit most cravings.

We can recommend a whole host of restaurants; you’ll be spoilt for choice. Loca is a great venue where you can dance and listen to chart, disco and a sprinkling of cheesy tunes. Get that handbag on the floor and dance.

Cabaret Voltaire is a thriving, venue that hosts some of the best-known club events. It caters for all genres of dance music.

The Stand Comedy Club on York Place gets rave reviews and top acts, a good giggle.
