Weather
Barcelona enjoys a Mediterranean climate, with coolish winters and hot summers. Highs can reach 37°C in July and August. Being next to the sea means extra humidity, but refreshing sea breezes can offset this.
The temperature can get as low as 7°C in January and February, but by March, the weather improves rapidly towards the summer.
Yvonne says
I would like to say that we very much enjoyed the hen party activity on Saturday. It completely met and exceeded our expectations. Our guide Alexandra was excellent.
Many thanks for your professionalism and help with everything.
We enjoyed the following activities:
Flamenco Dance Class
Language
Two languages are spoken in Barcelona, Catalan and Spanish (Castilian Spanish - castellano). Because of the large amount of tourists and Barcelona’s international business reputation, English is widely understood - No problems there then for you Barcelona Hens!
However, not everyone speaks it, and you’ll find people are much more appreciative (and probably give you better service) if you try and muddle through with a bit of Spanish.
Here are some phrases to get you started -
Yes - Si
No- No (Easy Enough!)
Goodbye - Adios
Please - Por Favor
Thank you - Gracias
My name is - Me llamo....
How much does it cost? - Cuanto es?
And the ones you Barcelona Hens will find the most useful!
Wine - vino
I’m very thirsty its my round! - Tengo mucha sed esta ronda me toca a mi!
I dont understand - No entiendo
Changing Money
Go to
www.xe.com for the latest exchange rates
There are plenty of money exchange places, both at the airport and in the centre of town. One easy option is to use the ATM bank machines with your bankcard or credit card. The exchange rate is competitive, and a fixed charge is normally applied. Because of this fixed charge, it’s worth getting your weekends worth of currency in one withdrawal, rather than being charged several times for several smaller withdrawals.
